The inaugural programme of the nationally implemented Local Government Week 2026 initiative was organized today at the Thillayadi Clinic Centre by the Puttalam Municipal Council.
This national programme is being implemented under the guidance of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government and the North Western Provincial Council.
As part of the programme, a free Ayurvedic medical service was also organized, focusing on the health and well-being of the public. Through this initiative, members of the public were given the opportunity to receive free Ayurvedic medical consultations and treatment services.
The event was held under the leadership of Mayor Eng. Rinsad Ahamed, with Hon. Mohamed Faizal, Member of Parliament for Puttalam District, participating as the Chief Guest.
It is noteworthy that, under the Local Government Week 2026 initiative, various public welfare activities will be carried out with the aim of bringing local government services closer to the people and promoting public well-being, healthcare, and community development.
