An important discussion on the future development of Puttalam City under the 16 Life Cities National Development Programme was held today at the Puttalam District Secretariat.
The discussion was chaired by Puttalam District Member of Parliament Gayan Janaka and was attended by Member of Parliament Mohamed Faizal, Mayor Eng. Rinsad Ahamed of Puttalam Municipal Council, and relevant government officials.
Several important areas related to the future development of Puttalam City were discussed in detail, including:
- City development plans
- Transport facilities
- Urban planning
- Future development proposals
This was the second discussion on the development of Puttalam City under the programme. The first discussion was held at Parliament in August 2026.
The discussions are aimed at identifying key development needs and planning the future development of Puttalam City under the 16 Life Cities National Development Programme.
