To participate in the UNCCD COP17 MAYOR’S FORUM – ULAANBAATAR 2026 representing Sri Lanka, Mayor of Puttalam Eng. Rinsad Ahamed and the Mayor of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte arrived in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, yesterday, 20.08.2026.
Upon their arrival at Ulaanbaatar International Airport, they were officially welcomed at the VIP Lounge by Deputy Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Jargalsaikhan Ganbaatar.
Thereafter, the two Sri Lankan mayors also attended a special reception organized for international mayors participating in the conference by B. Purevdagva, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar.
The Mayor’s Forum Conference commenced today, 21.08.2026.
It is noteworthy that the mayors of Puttalam and Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte are representing Sri Lanka at this international gathering, which brings together city leaders from around the world.
