For the safety of the public, new pedestrian crossings have been introduced at two locations in Puttalam.
Following requests from the relevant religious institutions and residents, arrangements were made by Puttalam Municipal Council Mayor Eng. Rinsad Ahamed to establish pedestrian crossings at:
- In front of Nindhani Muslim Mosque
- In front of Sri Vishuddharama Viharaya
This initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety, encourage motorists to reduce their speed, and provide safer road access for worshippers and residents in the surrounding areas.
The Puttalam Municipal Council kindly requests motorists to reduce their speed at these locations, follow the road signs and markings, and give priority to pedestrians.
