The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence made a special visit to Puttalam Base Hospital and inspected the various development projects currently being carried out at the hospital.
During the visit, he particularly inspected the development work being carried out in Wards 4, 5 and 6 with the support of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
He also brought a donor with him with the aim of providing assistance to completely renovate the roof of the hospital’s Children’s Ward. He further assured that continued assistance and support would be provided for the hospital’s future development projects.
Another significant aspect of the visit was that the wife of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence had received her initial medical training at this hospital.
During the visit, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence was welcomed by Puttalam Municipal Council Mayor Eng. Rinsad Ahamed, the new Medical Superintendent of Puttalam Base Hospital, specialist doctors, medical officers and hospital administrative officials.
As a token of appreciation and to commemorate the visit, a memento was also presented to the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence.
